Cody "Nite" Rodeo
Cody Wyoming

With a full rodeo staged every night of the summer, the community has adopted the slogan "Cody is Rodeo." This sport of cowboys is a "must see" during a trip to Cody. Performances fit easily into plans because the Cody Nite Rodeo is on tap every night - all summer long - June 1st to August 31st.

Entering its 63rd year, this is the longest running rodeo in the U.S. Many of the cowboys who are the current national leaders in their events, including numerous Cowboy Hall of Fame inductees, started their careers right here in Cody.

Capping each show is the bull riding - an audience thriller sure to keep people riveted to their seats until the last cowboy rides. Other nightly events are calf roping, team roping and bulldogging. Younger cowboys join in the steer riding, a prelude to riding bulls when they're older. Audiences will see cowgirls of all ages barrel racing.

Children in the grandstands can join in the fun as well with events like special calf scrambles and stick horse races every night. The fun includes rodeo clowns who entertain the crowd and also provide sometimes life-saving assistance to contestants as they usher the cowboys away from rough stock after their ride.

The grand finale weekend for the Cody Nite Rodeo traditionally includes a special bull-o-rama, featuring an evening of bull riding.
