Although Ten Sleep doesn't have it's own museum, the area is full of history and is recognized as being the site of many historic battlegrounds between Indian tribes and the white man. One such fight took place at the Bates Battlesite where U.S. Troops worked in concert with the Shoshone to defeat the Arapahoe. Another is the Dull Knife site where Dull Knife and Wild Hog were defeated leaving the Bighorn Mountains under the control of the white man.
