Located deep in the heart of the unspoiled Big Horn Mountains, your dream winter vacation resorts are very easy to find. A map of Wyoming is all you need to find the easiest route for your travel planning. The scenery through the Big Horn Mountains offers breathtaking vistas, and there are many interesting highlights on the way. This is a prime area for hiking, fishing, camping, boating, skiing, snowmobiling and snowboarding. Wildlife is abundant, so be on the lookout for deer, moose and elk. Cambrian geological formations are indicated all along Highway 16.
Cloud Peak Skyway is plowed throughout the winter, but it
is recommended you have chains available if you don't have a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
Those traveling on alternate routes should purchase or print out a Wyoming road
map. For more detailed information on backcountry and undeveloped roads in the
Big Horn Mountains, you may purchase a Wyoming county map (Johnson County) in
Buffalo or Worland.
